Senior Manager - Insights, Hindi Movies

Location: Mumbai| Function: Programming Strategy and Insights | Reports to: Associate Vice President - Insights, Movies, Infotainment, Sony AATH and Sony PAL

Purpose

This position is responsible for architecting and executing the content and scheduling strategy for Hindi Movies channels to drive peak viewership, GRP performance, and market share. Operating at the intersection of creative curation and commercial strategy, this role ensures all content acquisition and scheduling decisions directly optimize revenue potential. The position requires a data-informed leader who can foster seamless cross-functional alignment with Sales, Brand, Legal, and Distribution, while building a high-performing programming team to achieve the channels long-term business objectives.

Education: Master's in Business Administration or Postgraduate in Management

Experience: 8+ years of experience in Programming Strategy Insights in a consumer-centric industry/ agency.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Channel Performance Management

  • Ensure the channels meet GRP, viewership, and share targets.
  • Monitor weekly and quarterly GRP, viewership, and share data to identify trends and gaps.
  • Implement corrective actions for underperforming slots.
  • Align programming grids and scheduling decisions with target performance objectives.
  • Prepare performance reports and insights for management to inform strategic decisions.

2.Content Acquisition & Curation

  • Evaluate, select, and acquire movies based on quality, relevance, and cost-effectiveness; maintain weekly premieres; build and maintain library.
  • Evaluate and select movies based on quality, audience relevance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure timely acquisition to maintain a consistent schedule of weekly premieres.
  • Maintain and optimise the content library for variety, market trends, and audience engagement.
  • Analyse competitor offerings and audience preferences to inform acquisition decisions

3.Programming Strategy & Network Collaboration

  • Develop and execute programming strategies aligned with sales, brand, and cross-department goals.
  • Delegate objectives and track progress through O.C.M or other performance tools.
  • Provide promo and library support to maximise on-air impact and content utilisation.
  • Facilitate collaboration with other teams to leverage synergies and ensure cohesive execution.

4.Commercial Alignment & Revenue Focus

  • Ensure timely execution of content-related tasks within 15/30-day TATs.
  • Align programming and acquisition strategy with revenue and commercial objectives.
  • Liaise with commercial/business teams to gather input and integrate priorities.
  • Monitor outcomes and incorporate feedback to maximise revenue impact and stakeholder satisfaction.

5.Technical Competencies:

  • Designing content calendars and premieres to optimise ratings and GRP.
  • Evaluating, curating, and maintaining cost-effective content libraries.
  • Interpreting viewership, GRP/share trends, and audience segmentation.
  • Ensuring timely execution of acquisition, review, and approval processes.
  • Aligning programming strategy with sales, brand, commercial, and legal teams.

6.Behavioural Competencies:
