Job Title: Senior Manager – Business Finance
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced finance leader to partner with business and operations teams in a high-performance manufacturing environment. The role will act as a Finance Business Partner for a key business segment, driving financial planning, performance management, cost control, and governance.
The incumbent will play a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making, ensuring financial discipline, and strengthening internal controls, while working closely with both local and global stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Forecasting:
- Lead the development and execution of Annual Operating Plans and Long-Range Financial Plans in alignment with business strategy
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial submissions in enterprise reporting systems
- Partner with business leaders to translate operational plans into financial outcomes
Financial Reporting & Close Management
- Oversee and ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Review and approve journal entries and financial adjustments
- Analyze financial performance across P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements
- Deliver insightful variance analysis (actual vs. plan/forecast) and drive corrective actions
- Lead balance sheet reviews and ensure integrity through timely reconciliations and issue resolution
Business Performance Management
- Provide actionable financial insights on key performance indicators including cost, productivity, profitability, and working capital
- Support periodic business performance reviews with senior leadership
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risks and opportunities and recommend improvement actions
Cost Management & Profitability
- Drive cost governance across operations, ensuring alignment with business case assumptions
- Monitor product costing and profitability, including transfer pricing mechanisms
- Partner with operations to analyze cost variances and implement sustainable corrective measures
Capital Investment Governance
- Evaluate capital expenditure proposals using financial metrics such as IRR, NPV, and payback period
- Ensure alignment of capital investments with strategic and financial objectives
Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (S&OP)
- Partner with supply chain and operations teams to assess demand and supply plans and translate them into financial forecasts
- Drive inventory optimization and working capital efficiency initiatives
Operational Finance Support
- Participate in structured cross-functional operational review forums
- Provide financial guidance to resolve operational and commercial challenges impacting performance
Compliance, Controls & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards (Indian GAAP and US GAAP)
- Maintain a robust internal controls framework in line with SOX and statutory requirements
- Oversee account reconciliations and ensure timely closure of open items
- Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with corporate policies
Taxation & Regulatory Compliance
- Coordinate with tax and regulatory teams on business financials.
- Continuous Improvement & Transformation
- Lead finance transformation initiatives focused on process improvement, standardization, and automation
- Drive digital adoption to enhance reporting efficiency, accuracy, and transparency
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance function
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a trusted finance partner to business and operational leaders
- Collaborate effectively with global stakeholders across regions
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing finance team with a strong focus on capability building and succession planning
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and performance excellence
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost Accountant (CMA/ICWA)
Experience
- 15+ years of post-qualification experience in finance and accounting
- Strong background in manufacturing finance, plant accounting, and business controlling
- Experience in managing finance for multi-product or multi-business environments
- Exposure to multinational organizations and global reporting frameworks preferred
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Indian GAAP and US GAAP
- Expertise in financial planning, analysis, and performance management
- High level of analytical and problem-solving capability
