Job Description

Senior Manager – Business Finance

Job Location : HSR Layout, Bangalore (on-site)

About the Company :

Blissclub is one of India's fastest-growing apparel brands, built with a singular mission: to build comfortable and functional apparel for India. We are reimagining the apparel space- not just designing products, but building a movement. What started as a community-first D2C brand has expanded into experience-led retail destinations where our customers don't just shop, they connect, discover, and belong.

Founded in 2020 by ISB alum Minu Margeret, Blissclub has raised Series A of $15 million in May 2022 led by Eight Roads Ventures and Elevation Capital followed by another round of Rs. 33 Crores in May 2025.

Featured on LinkedIn's Top Startups list in 2022 and 2025, we're one of India's fastest-growing D2C brands redefining comfortable apparel for India.

Role Overview :

The Senior Manager Business Finance will be Blissclub's embedded finance partner to business teams — owning reporting, driving analysis, and actively influencing decisions. You will drive business reviews, challenge assumptions, model new bets, and ensure every significant commercial decision has a financial spine to it. At the same time, you will own the rhythm of financial reporting — MIS, P&L tracking, variance analysis — that keeps leadership and investors informed. The expectation is both: accurate numbers and strong opinions on what those numbers mean.

Key Responsibilities :

1. P&L Ownership & Performance Reporting

  • Own channel-level P&L — build, maintain, and publish monthly with full revenue-to-CM2 waterfall.
  • Publish weekly and monthly MIS to leadership; track actuals vs. budget vs. prior year with clear variance commentary.
  • Go beyond reporting — identify P&L leakage points, flag risks proactively before month-end, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain clean, investor-ready P&L formats that reconcile to controllership actuals every month.

2. Budgeting, AOP & Reforecasting

  • Co-own the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) process — drive bottoms-up budget builds with business owners, not just top-down target splits.
  • Maintain an assumptions log: every AOP number should be traceable to a business driver (orders, AOV, CAC, returns, discounts, etc.).
  • Own quarterly reforecasting and rolling plan updates; publish a clear bridge between original plan, revised forecast, and actuals.
  • Flag when teams are trending off-plan early enough for course correction — not just in month-end reviews.

3. New Initiative & Business Case Financial Sponsorship

  • For every new channel, geography, or product line — own the financial business case: investment required, payback period, P&L impact.
  • Set financial guardrails for new bets; define go/no-go metrics and track actuals vs. modeled post-launch.
  • Provide a kill-or-double-down recommendation to leadership based on financial performance vs. original thesis.
  • Act as financial co-sponsor for Blissclub's retail expansion — store-level P&L models, capex payback, and breakeven analysis per location.

4. Finance SPOC for Growth, Marketing & Supply Chain

  • Be the single point of contact for growth, marketing, and SCM teams on all financial questions — spends, ROI, budget headroom, trade-offs.
  • Provide financial inputs to SCM and planning teams on demand forecasting, inventory investment, and working capital trade-offs.
  • Build and maintain a discount governance framework
  • Track marketing spend efficiency (ROAS, CAC by channel) and publish monthly marketing P&L to the growth team.
  • Own the margin waterfall by category and channel: from MRP to gross margin to CM1 to CM2 — track monthly and flag deterioration.
  • Build channel and cohort benchmarks over time to track whether unit economics are improving or deteriorating as we scale.

5. Investor & Fundraising Support

  • Maintain investor-grade unit economics and channel-level metrics that can be pulled for board packs or due diligence at short notice.
  • Support financial sections of board decks, investor updates, and data room preparation.
  • Respond to ad hoc investor data requests in coordination with the Finance Head.

Who You Are :

Required

  • CA or MBA Finance from a reputed institution
  • 5–6 years of experience in Business Finance, FP&A, in an e-commerce, D2C, or high-growth consumer company.
  • High proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets; exposure to BI tools (Looker, Superset, Power BI) is a plus.

The Right Mindset

  • You have opinions about the business, not just accurate numbers.
  • You can move fast, deal with ambiguity, and build structure where none exists.
  • Strong financial modelling skills — you build models from scratch
