Position Summary

Based in Singapore, the Senior Manager - Brand & Communications will lead the development and execution of branding and external communications strategy across the Asia Pacific region. This is a high-impact individual contributor role with regional coordination responsibilities, ensuring a consistent and compelling brand presence across all APAC markets.

The role balances alignment with global brand guidelines and appropriate local adaptation to address market nuances. By driving regional branding initiatives and managing public relations, media relations and corporate reputation programmes, this position plays a critical role in strengthening brand awareness and credibility while supporting the company's strategic objectives across Asia Pacific.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Asia Pacific branding strategy aligned with the global brand vision and values.
  • Drive brand awareness and equity across the region through integrated campaigns and initiatives that resonate across diverse markets.
  • Serve as the regional brand custodian, ensuring corporate branding guidelines and visual identity standards are applied consistently across all APAC business units.
  • Ensure all marketing and communications materials maintain a consistent, high-quality brand image while guiding local teams on appropriate adaptation for cultural and market relevance.
  • Raise the profile and visibility of Daiichi Life Asia Pacific by designing and overseeing regional external communications initiatives, including public relations campaigns, media relations, social media management, crisis communications and corporate reputation management programmes.
  • Craft press releases, media statements and thought leadership content to enhance the company's profile and stakeholder trust across Asia Pacific.
  • Oversee Daiichi Life Asia Pacific's corporate website, ensuring timely, accurate and brand-consistent communication.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists and PR agencies across the region.
  • Act as a regional spokesperson when appropriate and coordinate press events, media interviews and speaking opportunities in collaboration with local market teams to ensure unified and positive messaging.
  • Liaise regularly with global branding and communications colleagues at the Japan headquarters to align regional plans with corporate strategy and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with country-level marketing and communications leaders across all business units in Asia Pacific, providing guidance, resources and best practices to support effective and on-brand local execution.
  • Monitor and analyse brand performance and media coverage across APAC, including brand awareness metrics, media sentiment and campaign ROI.
  • Provide periodic reports and insights to regional leadership and headquarters, using data to demonstrate impact, inform decision-making and continuously improve branding and communications strategies.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA would be advantageous.
  • 12 to 15 years of relevant experience in branding, marketing communications or corporate communications, preferably within the financial services or life insurance industry.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful multi-market brand strategies and external communications campaigns in a regional capacity.
  • Experience working in a multinational, matrix organisation. Familiarity with Japanese corporate culture and business practices would be an advantage.
  • Strong experience in media relations, public relations, social media management, crisis communications and managing PR agencies.
  • Experience overseeing corporate websites and digital communication channels, ensuring content accuracy, brand consistency and governance standards.
  • Strategic vision with strong execution capability in regional brand and communications leadership.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience in brand and media performance measurement.
  • Creative yet disciplined approach, balancing innovation with brand and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborative and relationship-oriented working style with strong influencing skills.
  • Proactive, resilient and comfortable operating in a regional environment.
