Position Overview

RSM US LLP is seeking a dynamic Audit Senior Manager to join RSM US Integrated Services India Private Limited in India. This position is part of the Audit Standards and Methodology Group (ASMG) within the National Professional Standards Group (NPSG), working closely with NPSG India counterparts. This role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about auditing and motivated to collaborate with high-performing professionals while advancing the strategic goals of the audit practice. The ASMG Senior Manager will lead national initiatives related to audit standards and methodology, including incorporating relevant guidance and policies into audit tools and technologies. The role involves providing technical assistance to audit teams, develop and maintain audit policy and guidance, implement new audit standards, and develop and deliver training materials for the firm's audit practice. The individual may assist others with various projects and will be responsible for mentoring and developing other team members.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The following responsibilities represent the primary expectations of this role. Percentages indicate the average allocation of time and total 100%.

  • Implementation of New Auditing Standards (30%)

Lead the planning and execution of initiatives related to the implementation of new auditing standards and associated policies.

  • Audit Methodology and Content Development (25%)

Develop and maintain the firm's audit manuals, practice aids, and audit tool content, serving as a content author and/or technical reviewer.

  • Training Development (5%)

Develop national training materials, including in-person courses, webcasts, and self-study programs.

  • Training Facilitation (5%)

Facilitate national training programs, including in-person sessions and webcasts.

  • Technical Assistance (15%)

Provide technical assistance to audit engagement teams and other members within NPSG.

  • Thought Leadership and Research (10%)

Conduct research and assist in drafting thought leadership documents, including articles for the audit practice and, when applicable, firm-wide distribution.

  • External Outreach Activities (5%)

Participate in external outreach activities such as task forces, working groups, standards-setting committees, drafting comment letters, and supporting other NPSG members in outreach initiatives.

  • Other Responsibilities (5%)

Perform additional duties as assigned, including limited travel for team meetings, training sessions, and working groups.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CA qualified with 9+ years of relevant public accounting experience
  • ACCA/CPA qualified with 11+ years of relevant public accounting experience
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong project management capabilities
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to mentor and develop other team members
  • Highly productive with the ability to take initiative without direct oversight
  • Collaborative and respectful team player
  • Strong drive for excellence and high achievement
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and new ideas

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience auditing under GAAS, PCAOB, and IAASB auditing standards
  • Understanding of audit services with knowledge of GAAS, IAASB, and PCAOB standards
