Senior Manager / AGM – Finance & Accounts-Manufacturing co at Chennai

Location: Chennai

Industry: Manufacturing

CTC: Maximum gross up to 12 LPA

Reporting To: CFO / Managing Director

Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Finance & Accounts professional to lead the entire finance function of a large manufacturing organization. The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in managing finance and accounting operations for high-turnover manufacturing companies, with strong expertise in financial control, costing, statutory compliance, taxation, ERP systems, and strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the complete Finance & Accounts function for the organization.
  • Oversee end-to-end financial accounting, book closure, and timely finalization of monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Drive financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and working capital optimization.
  • Ensure robust product costing, inventory valuation, cost analysis, and profitability reporting across manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and monitor financial controls, compliance frameworks, and risk management processes.
  • Ensure timely compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, Companies Act, and other statutory requirements.
  • Lead statutory, internal, tax, and cost audits and coordinate with auditors, bankers, financial institutions, and regulatory authorities.
  • Review and analyze MIS reports, business performance, profitability, and key financial metrics to support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with Plant Heads, Operations, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to improve productivity, optimize costs, and enhance profitability.
  • Lead ERP-driven finance processes and ensure effective utilization of SAP ERP and Tally ERP.
  • Strengthen internal controls, standardize financial processes, and drive continuous process improvements.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance and accounts team.

Candidate Profile

  • CA / CMA (ICWA) preferred. MBA (Finance) will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 15–20+ years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounts, with significant exposure to large manufacturing companies.
  • Must have managed the finance function of organizations with an annual turnover of ₹300 crore+ (higher turnover exposure preferred).
  • Strong expertise in manufacturing accounting, product costing, inventory accounting, financial reporting, and statutory compliance.
  • Proven experience in finalization of accounts, audit management, taxation (GST, TDS, Income Tax), budgeting, and working capital management.
  • Hands-on experience in SAP ERP and Tally ERP.
  • Excellent leadership, business partnering, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work closely with senior management and provide strategic financial insights.
