Working with our Customers
Senior Major Account Executive - Central Government & PSU (New Logos) will secure new clients within ministries, PSUs, and government institutions. Responsibilities include generating demand, influencing early, replacing competitors, and closing significant, long-cycle deals. This position focuses on establishing Akamai as the preferred platform for performance, security, and resilience in critical government applications.
As a Senior Major Account Executive New Accounts - Delhi, you will be responsible for:
- Focusing on acquiring new logos, targeting Central Government entities, identifying opportunities, and engaging leadership to influence requirements and desired outcomes.
- Developing and implementing a thorough territory plan with defined targets, strategic entry points, and key themes to drive success.
- Building and closing pipelines by developing self-sourced opportunities through prospecting, partnerships, and ecosystem influence while managing high-value, multi-year security pursuits.
- Transforming processes by updating legacy systems to platform-centered strategies, enhancing architecture for reliability, security, performance, and strengthening trust in governmental functions.
- Building and utilizing an ecosystem of SIS, partners, consultants, and influencers to drive entry, scale, collaboration, and solution design.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Have 10 to 12 years of enterprise or government sales, with proven new account hunting success with a bachelor's degree.
- Show expertise in accessing Central Government or PSU accounts and selling cybersecurity, cloud, CDN, infrastructure, or platform solutions.
- Understand government sales, procurement processes, ecosystem intricacies, and public sector unit purchasing patterns within India.
- Navigate extended sales cycles, ambiguity, and multi-stakeholder dynamics while engaging senior bureaucrats and PSU leadership with assured executive presence.
