Job Description: Senior Mainframe Developer/ IT Support (AMF) – Technical Lead (Exp: 8 - 12 years)
We are seeking a highly skilled and talented senior Mainframe developer to join our team as a Technical Lead who is involved in the development part of projects & evolutive maintenance, as well as giving support and problem solving. This includes writing new functionality and extending existing code for Cluster AM Belgium.
- 6 years of experience in a similar role.
- Seniority of 6 years of relevant and proven experience on an IBM z/OS Mainframe environment
- Proficient knowledge on the following technologies : PL/I, Cool: Gen (Broadcom), IMS/DC & IMS/DB, MFS, DB2, JCL and MQ-Series
- Proven usage of debugging, testing & release management tools on IBM z/OS Mainframe
- Usage of Service Now as Incident & problem mgmnt tool
- Followed by a support, be able to handle the fact that 80% of the current documentation is in Dutch, as well as the variables and parameters used in the coding
- Proficient level of English (reading, writing and speaking)
- Able to write new and extend existing code in a project and evolutive maintenance mode
- Able to write transactional and batch applications
- ITIL trained / certified
Roles & Responsibilities
Delivery of applications
- Good comprehension of the business flow behind the applications (MES & Supply Chain related business)
- Technical design of the application
- Technical design of the database
- Coding stable, performant & well-structured applications
- Complying with general quality & performance rules, as well as adhering to AMBe standards
- Able to write transactional and batch applications Performing unit, integration and end-to-end testing
- Delivery of complete documentation
- Release management of the application up-to production & hyper-care
- All above points in project or evolutive maintenance mode – by writing new and extending existing code
Incident & Problem Solving
- Solving any issues which might occur for the assigned applications – either through a workaround, root-cause analysis, bugfixing.
Support
- Answering (basic) questions by the end-user on the assigned applications
Guard - duty
- Take up membership of the corresponding guard-duty
Optional / Nice to have but not mandatory – mentoring other Mainframe developers
- Mentoring and guiding new other Mainframe developers
