Job Description

We're Hiring,
Senior software development role focused on mainframe systems
The large, powerful computers used by banks, insurance firms, and government systems. The specialist mainly works with assembler programming, which is a low-level coding language used to control mainframe hardware directly.
The job requires someone who can analyze complex data, debug and fix code, and help modernize or migrate old mainframe programs, possibly moving them to newer technologies or cloud environments.

Main Responsibilities
Learn company tools used for modernizing and transforming old mainframe code.
Write and debug assembler code this is very technical, low-level programming.
Document everything like requirements, system design, and code for clarity.
Work on multiple projects at the same time ensure everything is completed on time and within budget.
Maintain quality while meeting project goals.
Collaborate closely with teammates and clients to solve problems.
Train or guide the client's own mainframe experts where needed.
Adapt well to change and continuous updates in tools or processes.

Education and Experience
7+ years working with mainframe systems (applications and databases).
7+ years of assembler coding (bonus if you also know assembler for Windows or Linux).
It's a plus if you know some Java programming (2+ years).
Any cloud certifications (like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) are beneficial.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar experience.

Key Skills and Abilities
Expert in mainframe tech such as COBOL, CICS, and DB2.
Advanced assembler programming and debugging skills.
Understands algorithms and data structures (how programs handle data efficiently).
Can design software using abstract principles (big-picture architecture).
Can quickly learn new programming frameworks.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, especially for performance or functional issues.
Familiar with databases can write SQL, tune queries, and handle performance issues.
Experience with testing and deployment, ideally on the cloud.
Good communicator (able to explain technical matters clearly).
Understands both Waterfall (structured) and Agile (flexible) development methods.

In Short
This role is for a highly experienced mainframe developer who:
Codes primarily in assembler,
Understands other mainframe technologies like COBOL and DB2,
Can debug, document, and modernize old systems,
And ideally, also has exposure to Java or cloud technologies.

Shift 1pm to 10pm/3 pm to 12 am
Pune - Hybrid
Experience : 4-6 Years
CTC : 11 LPA
