Job Summary:
We are seeking a Project Manager to mentor and guide learner teams as they design intelligent AI/ML-driven solutions for real-world problem contexts. The PM will support learners through a structured, sprint-based XPro, helping them understand problem statements, interpret datasets, build machine learning models or rule-based systems, and develop conceptual intelligent system designs.
The role combines strong facilitation, clarity of communication, and the ability to translate complex AI/ML, data science, and system-design concepts into accessible guidance for learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help learners understand real-world problem contexts and their relevance to AI/ML applications.
- Guide teams in analysing structured and unstructured datasets used in intelligent systems.
- Support comprehension of core AI/ML concepts such as data preprocessing, feature engineering, model selection, and evaluation.
- Mentor students in developing simple rule-based systems or machine-learning models for decision-making and automation.
- Help learners validate system logic through testing, error handling, and anomaly detection techniques.
- Facilitate understanding of AI system architecture, APIs, dashboards, and model deployment concepts.
- Reinforce ethical AI principles, fairness, bias mitigation, and responsible AI practices during design decisions.
- Ensure learners justify their design choices using data-driven reasoning and real-world case studies.
- Coach teams to develop conceptual intelligent systems (e.g., recommendation engines, predictive models, automation tools) using provided datasets.
Project & Team Management Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and anchor learner project teams throughout all sprints and deliverables.
- Introduce learners to the problem statement, Agile approach, and tools such as Taiga/Play Portal.
- Create official communication channels, set ground rules, and maintain professional learner engagement.
- Assign weekly tasks, run weekly team meetings, track attendance, and monitor progress.
- Review learner submissions, provide structured feedback, and prepare teams for Product Owner presentations.
- Conduct sprint retrospectives, update sprint reports, and escalate issues where required.
- Maintain professional communication boundaries and uphold organizational conduct standards.
- Train and mentor new Project Managers as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Knowledge of AI/ML concepts, data analytics, or intelligent system design.
- Familiarity with basic statistics, data modelling, and machine-learning workflows.
- Understanding of model evaluation metrics, overfitting, bias, and interpretability.
- Experience with Python, ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or similar) is preferred but not mandatory.
- Understanding of ethical AI principles and responsible automation frameworks.
- Demonstrated capability in learner engagement, mentoring, facilitation, and structured communication.
- Strong project-management experience with planning, execution, and sprint-based delivery.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a simple, professional, and structured manner.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or related fields.
- Certifications in AI/ML, Data Science, or Project Management (Agile/PMP) are preferred.
Professional Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in AI/ML, data science, software development, analytics, or related domains.
- Experience mentoring student teams, junior engineers, or interns in project-based or academic environments.
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and collaborative digital tools.
Performance Expectations & KPIs:
- Timely completion of sprint deliverables by learner teams.
- High learner engagement and satisfaction.
- Quality and industry relevance of project outcomes.
- Adherence to Agile ceremonies, documentation, and escalation processes.
- Positive feedback from Product Owner and delivery leadership.
