M365 Specialist Sr. Associate

Senior M365 Specialist (Sr. Associate) M365 Asset Migration (6 to 8 Years of Exp) The M365 Migration Senior Associate will execute tenant-to-tenant migrations across Microsoft 365 workloads, including Exchange Online, OneDrive for Business, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and related security and compliance configurations. This hands-on role delivers secure, compliant, and scalable migration outcomes with minimal business disruption, aligning execution to enterprise governance and regulatory requirements. The position collaborates closely with solution architects, security and compliance teams, application owners, and vendors to plan, pilot, migrate, and validate services and data across complex cloud ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Discovery, Readiness, and Design Support Perform discovery and inventory of mailboxes, archives, shared resources, distribution/M365 groups, OneDrive accounts, SharePoint sites, Teams, and related apps.
2. Contribute to workload-level migration designs (coexistence strategy, pilot criteria, wave planning, success metrics, rollback).
3. Support identity and domain readiness: UPN/SMTP alignment, vanity domain transfer sequencing, directory objects mapping, group and permission modelling.
4. Define verification methods and test plans for mailbox health, site integrity, Teams functionality, membership/permissions, links, and policy replication.
5. Workload Execution (Tenant-to-Tenant) Exchange Online: Execute mailbox and archive migrations; handle shared/resource mailboxes, delegates, calendars, and permissions.
6. Coordinate mail flow changes, connectors, accepted domains, and DNS (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC) to ensure delivery and maintain email hygiene.
7. OneDrive for Business and SharePoint Online: Migrate user and site content, metadata, and permissions; reconcile sharing links and external access; validate site structures and policies.
8. Align hub/site associations, site quotas, and governance settings post-migration.
9. Microsoft Teams and M365 Groups: Migrate teams, channels, tabs, files, and memberships; coordinate the reconfiguration of apps/bots/connectors. Validate chats, meetings, and policies as applicable; ensure M365 Group membership and resources are up to date and intact.
10. Cross-workload dependencies: Identify and address integrations (Power Platform, Planner, Stream storage locations, and eDiscovery cases), and document any exceptions/remediations. Security, Compliance, and Governance Alignment Apply Conditional Access/MFA prerequisites and ensure least privilege in admin execution. Carry forward or re-establish DLP, retention, sensitivity labels, and eDiscovery/legal hold alignment; capture variances and approvals.
11. Maintain audit-ready evidence: configuration mappings, change records, migration logs, validation results, and sign-offs. Cutover, Coexistence, and Stabilization Execute pilots and scale to migration waves with well-defined runbooks, entry/exit criteria, and command-center procedures.
12. Coordinate coexistence (calendar sharing, mail routing, link redirection) and domain cutovers to minimize downtime and user impact. Perform post-migration validation for data integrity, permissions, authentication, mail flow, search, Teams calling/meetings, and service health.
13. Drive hypercare, defect triage, and remediation; transition to steady-state operations with knowledge transfer.
14. Automation, Tooling, and Reporting Build and enhance automation for repeatable tasks using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph; leverage approved migration and reporting APIs. Standardize scripts, templates, and validation routines; integrate into version-controlled pipelines for auditable execution.
15. Produce dashboards and reports to track progress, throughput, errors, and success criteria; communicate status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
16. Stakeholder Coordination and Communication Coordinate schedules and dependencies with architects, identity engineers, security/compliance, application owners.
