We are looking for a technically strong and commercially minded professional who can drive project delivery, develop people and take ownership of M&E performance from project inception through to completion. This person will be a strong subject matter expert and lead in electrical or mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
M&E Leadership & Project Delivery
- Lead M&E activities from design coordination, procurement and site execution through to testing, commissioning and final handover.
- Ensure M&E works are delivered in accordance with project requirements, design specifications, programme, quality standards and Singapore regulations.
- Take ownership of M&E performance and ensure issues are identified and resolved proactively.
- Establish and maintain high standards for M&E workmanship, safety, coordination and project delivery.
Project Planning & Management
- Oversee M&E project milestones and deliverables, ensuring works remain on track.
- Identify potential risks, delays and technical issues early and implement effective mitigation plans.
- Coordinate M&E activities with Project Managers, Construction Managers, designers, consultants and other trades.
- Review project requirements and provide practical technical input during the planning and execution stages.
- Take charge of critical M&E issues and provide clear direction to the project team.
Leadership, People & Team Development
- Be the subject matter expert and mentor and develop the M&E team, creating a culture of accountability, ownership and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance and technical support to M&E staff, project teams and site personnel.
Technical Expertise & Problem-Solving
- Provide senior technical guidance on ACMV, electrical and other M&E systems.
- Review and resolve complex technical and coordination issues that arise during project execution.
- Ensure M&E installations comply with relevant Singapore codes, regulations and authority requirements.
- Work with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to develop practical solutions to technical challenges.
- Investigate incidents and ensure appropriate corrective actions and documentation are implemented.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Represent the M&E function professionally when dealing with clients, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Establish strong working relationships and provide confidence to clients on M&E matters.
- Participate in design and technical meetings and provide clear recommendations and solutions.
- Communicate project risks, progress and key M&E issues effectively to senior management.
- Support the Project and Construction teams in resolving issues that may affect overall project delivery.
Quality, Commissioning & Handover
- Oversee testing, commissioning and rectification of M&E systems.
- Ensure all M&E deliverables meet the required quality and performance standards.
- Lead the preparation and review of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, testing records and other handover documentation.
- Ensure successful M&E handover and client acceptance.
- Review project performance and identify lessons learned for future projects.
What You Bring
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in M&E management, preferably within commercial interior fit-out, design & build or construction environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of ACMV, electrical systems and relevant Singapore codes and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience managing M&E subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and project teams.
- Strong project management, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project cost, programme and resource requirements.
- Ability to work independently and provide clear direction to project teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and develop people.
