Role Description
The Senior Linux System Administrator role is a full-time, on-site position located in Chennai. The responsibilities include managing and maintaining Linux systems, resolving technical issues, conducting system performance monitoring, and providing advanced troubleshooting and technical support. In this role, you will ensure the security and uptime of network infrastructure, implement system improvements, and collaborate with a team of professionals to support infrastructure upgrades and deployments.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Linux System Administration and general System Administration to maintain and optimize server operations.
- Experience with Troubleshooting and providing Technical Support to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.
- Knowledge of Network Security to ensure system protection against potential vulnerabilities and risks.
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail in identifying and debugging system issues.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively within a team.
- Understanding of virtualization, containerization, and cloud computing is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Solaris certified with working experience.
- Linux certified with working experience.
- Cloud and VMware certification and working experience are added advantages.
- Hardware troubleshooting knowledge.
- Strong Knowledge in VMware/Cloud/Physical system implementation and management.
- HA/DR engineering for architecture on Linux clusters, VMware/Cloud, DRS.
- Optimizing network hardware and software to enable Physical/VMware/Cloud integration.
Job Description:
- Handling the Infra servers OM (NSS/BSS) respectively.
- Provide support to internal/external teams to run the Infra server services as per the agreed availability, ensure drive resolution of issues/ faults/ problems with good quality.
- Ensure emergency production issues are handled appropriately and quick workarounds provided.
- Ensure client requests and escalations are handled well with great level of customer satisfactions.
- Manage and maintain LAB systems, provide required support to RD for product deliveries.
- Ensure the project implementations provide support to professional team for project delivery as per the agreed scope and architecture.
Work Timings:
- Working from Home after three months.
- Six days a week working - Two shifts (Morning 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Noon: 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm)
