We are embarking on a new strategic engineering initiative and are looking for a highly skilled Linux Real-Time & Industrial Automation Engineer to play a key role in its development.
Role Summary
This position involves designing and implementing real-time systems for industrial automation, specifically for fiber laser cutting machines. You will work closely with:
- Motion Control Team
- PLC/Automation Engineers
- HMI Development Team
Note: This is a core architecture role with significant impact on future product innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Linux Real-Time Development: Kernel configuration, latency optimization, device driver integration
- Industrial Communication & Motion Control: Implement real-time communication frameworks, configure industrial devices, ensure deterministic cyclic communication
- Develop real-time applications in C/C++, synchronize motion, I/O, and process signals
- System Integration: Interface with servo drives, sensors, and higher-level systems; collaborate with HMI team for communication protocols
- Testing & Debugging: Performance testing, jitter measurement, accuracy validation
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong Linux RT expertise (kernel, patches, system internals)
- Real-time programming in C/C++
- Hands-on experience with industrial communication protocols (EtherCAT preferred)
- Motion control systems (CNC, robotics, servo systems)
- Strong debugging skills for latency and timing issues
Preferred
- Knowledge of CiA 402 drive profiles
- Exposure to industrial automation or CNC systems
- Familiarity with OPC UA or similar communication stacks
