Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Liferay Developer with extensive experience in Liferay DXP/Portal development and strong proficiency in Java/J2EE technologies. The ideal candidate will lead portal design, customization, and integration initiatives, ensuring scalable and secure enterprise solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and customization of Liferay DXP/Portal applications.
- Develop custom portlets, hooks, themes, layouts, and services using Java and Liferay frameworks.
- Architect and implement Liferay integrations with enterprise systems through REST/SOAP APIs, SSO, and external databases.
- Drive performance optimization, upgrade planning, and migration of existing Liferay environments.
- Define best practices, code standards, and reusable components within the portal ecosystem.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, business analysts, UI/UX designers, and QA engineers.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor junior developers, and support project delivery activities.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, and version control.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex production or performance issues.
Required Technical Skills:
- Minimum 8 years of overall experience in software development with 5+ years in Liferay DXP/Portal (7.x or above).
- Strong expertise in Java, J2EE, Spring MVC, Hibernate, JSP, Servlets, and Service Builder.
- In-depth knowledge of Liferay architecture, permissions framework, asset publisher, workflow, and content management.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap (React/Vue knowledge preferred).
- Experience with application servers (Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic) and RDBMS (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
- Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience in Liferay DXP upgrade, clustering, and performance tuning.
- Understanding of enterprise security, SSO, LDAP, and integration patterns.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Liferay DXP certification or proven contribution to enterprise-scale Liferay implementations.
- Experience in microservices architecture and cloud deployment (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and automation frameworks.
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical designs.
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
