Job Responsibilities in brief:
- To develop effective systems and procedures for professional management of the Purchase & Stores functions to relive the promoters from these activities and to support the increasing volumes.
- After stabilizing Purchase & Stores functions, to develop the strategy for implementing Supply Chain Management (SCM) in line with modern management practices and as required by key customers.
- Developing reliable supplier base for ferrous scrap, ferro alloys, refractories & other steel plant consumables and electrical and mechanical spares and components and for various services including transport contracts.
- Review and rationalization of supplier base retaining only the reliable suppliers to drive quality and optimize cost.
- Develop and implement suppliers quality management activities KPIs.
- Ensure availability of all materials at optimum cost.
- Improvement of delivery periods.
- Supplier base rationalization.
- Development of effective storage system.
Reporting Structure: ED/COO- MD
Reportees : Over 10 executives and supervisors in Purchase & Stores
Desired Attributes:
Qualifications: A graduate engineer or CA with relevant experience (An MBA degree will be an added advantage).
Experience:
At least 20 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in leadership roles from steel plant, foundries and engineering industry in promoter managed companies.
