Role Description The Senior Legal Manager will oversee and manage all legal affairs for BrightCHAMPS, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations in India and relevant international jurisdictions. This full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts and legal documents, including vendor agreements, employment contracts, partnership arrangements, and policy documents. The individual will provide legal consulting and risk assessment support to leadership and cross-functional teams, including finance, HR, product, and operations, to enable business decisions and mitigate potential liabilities. Responsibilities include managing legal compliance related to edtech, data privacy, IP protection, corporate governance, and regulatory filings, as well as coordinating with external counsel when needed. The Senior Legal Manager will also develop and maintain internal legal policies, conduct training on compliance and ethics, and contribute to strategic planning for expansion into new markets.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law with demonstrated experience in corporate or technology-focused legal environments.
• Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and policies.
• Experience in Legal Consulting, providing practical, business-oriented legal advice to senior stakeholders.
• Hands-on expertise in Legal Compliance, including regulatory requirements, data privacy, and corporate governance.
• Proven ability to manage broad Legal Affairs, such as litigation coordination, IP matters, and stakeholder communication.
• Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized institution; LL.M or specialization in corporate/technology law is an advantage.
• Minimum 8–10 years of relevant post-qualification experience, preferably in edtech, technology, or high-growth startups.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, collaborate across teams, and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
