Senior Legal Counsel

Role Overview

Alten Group operates through three subsidiaries/affiliate companies in India, with the Legal Team based in Bangalore. The India Legal unit, anchored under Global Legal Operations, is responsible for delivering efficient and high-quality legal services, including end-to-end contract management, compliance (such as export control screenings), data management and digitalization initiatives.

As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in supporting Alten India's business operations by leading day-to-day legal activities, ensuring compliance with both local and global standards and providing strategic legal guidance. This position calls for a proactive professional with strong leadership skills, deep contractual expertise and a business-oriented mindset, capable of partnering effectively with stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Team Mentoring-

• Oversee daily operations and foster collaboration within the legal team.
• Mentor and guide team members on complex legal and contractual matters.

Contracting & negotiating-

• Draft, negotiate, review, and revise contracts and terms across jurisdictions (especially US, India, Germany)
• Identify legal risks and propose practical, business-aligned solutions.
• Support the legal assessment or monitoring of risk of new business solutions and initiatives

Stakeholder Communication-

• Draft and review communications with business partners, customers, and public authorities.
• Provide legal support to internal departments and project teams.
• Assisting internal departments & project teams in achieving corporate objectives effectively & in compliance with applicable laws, procedures & policies

Compliance & Governance-

• Guiding the legal team and ensuring on-going deployment of local and group compliance programs via trainings and policies
• Act as a part of the compliance ambassador network, covering areas such as data privacy, anti-corruption, export control, and trade sanctions.

Legal Advisory & Research-

• Overseeing legal research and provide timely, actionable advice.
• Respond to day-to-day legal queries from the business
