Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Lead – Medical Coding to lead medical coding operations, manage coding teams, and ensure high standards of coding accuracy, productivity, quality, and compliance across multiple specialties. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of team-handling experience and proven expertise in managing operations across four or more medical coding specialties.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and mentor medical coding teams across multiple specialties.
• Oversee daily coding operations to achieve productivity, quality, accuracy, and turnaround-time targets.
• Manage coding activities across at least four medical coding specialties.
• Monitor coding quality through audits, feedback, root-cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, accuracy, quality scores, and team performance.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and training programs to improve coder competency.
• Ensure adherence to applicable coding guidelines, payer requirements, compliance standards, and client-specific processes.
• Identify operational gaps and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and coding accuracy.
• Coordinate with quality, training, operations, and client-facing teams to resolve coding-related issues.
• Support staffing, workload allocation, escalation management, and delivery planning.
• Prepare and present operational performance reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong experience in medical coding operations.
• Minimum 3+ years of team-handling or team-management experience.
• Proven experience managing coding operations across 4 or more medical coding specialties.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, coding guidelines, and quality standards.
• Experience in productivity monitoring, quality audits, performance management, and process improvement.
• Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple teams or specialty workflows while meeting operational targets.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant medical coding certification, such as CPC, CCS, or equivalent, depending on the specialties handled.
• Experience in healthcare RCM or medical coding service delivery.
• Experience handling client escalations, operational reviews, and performance reporting.

Compensation

Maximum budget: 14–15 LPA, depending on experience, leadership capability, and specialty expertise.
