Job Title: Senior Lead Engineer - Test & Validation.
Job overview/Purpose of the Position:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Hardware Test & Validation Engineer to contribute to the verification, validation, and qualification of electronic products/solutions across our product portfolio.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of hardware validation methodologies, test system development, reliability testing, and compliance standards.
This role demands technical thoroughness, analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure robust, reliable, and compliant electronic products.
Area of responsibilities:
- Plan, define, and execute Hardware verification and validation (V&V) strategies for monitoring and control hardware used in wind turbine and industrial environments.
- Develop test plans, test cases, and validation protocols aligned with product requirements, regulatory standards, and customer specifications.
- Design and build test setups, fixtures, and automated test systems for functional, environmental, electrical, and reliability testing.
- Perform system-level testing including signal acquisition accuracy, protection features, communication interfaces (CAN, Modbus, Ethernet, RS485), and embedded system behaviour.
- Validate Analog and digital circuits, power electronics, sensor interfaces, and data acquisition systems used in monitoring solutions.
- Conduct environmental and reliability tests such as temperature cycling, vibration, humidity, surge, ESD, and power variation testing.
- Support compliance and certification testing (EMC, safety, grid/industrial standards such as IEC/UL where applicable).
- Analyse test results, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions with design, firmware, and manufacturing teams.
- Create and maintain test reports, validation documentation, and traceability matrices for audits and product releases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware design, firmware, mechanical, quality, and production engineering.
- Support NPI (New Product Introduction) builds, pilot runs, and field validation activities.
Competencies (e.g. technical skills):
Must Have Skills & Experience:
- Around 10-15 years of hands-on experience in Testing and validation of electronic product design and development.
- Strong understanding of Analog/digital electronics, power electronics basics, and sensor/data acquisition circuits.
- Hands-on experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, electronic loads, signal generators, and data acquisition systems.
- Write basic code/scripts for testing/validating HW peripherals or system functions.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, Modbus, RS485, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART.
- Knowledge of communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, Ethernet).
- Understanding of power supply design, protection circuits, and EMC design.
- Ability to interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and system architecture.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and root cause analysis skills.
- Good documentation and communication skills, with ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to create technical documentation, datasheets, application notes and working instructions.
- Coordination on technical aspects and have a broader perspective of the product.
Good to Have Skills & Experience:
- Experience with wind turbine subsystems, condition monitoring systems (CMS), SCADA interfaces, or industrial automation hardware.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical integration, enclosures, IP ratings, and environmental protection for outdoor/harsh environments.
- Prior experience in a regulated domain (e.g., wind, automotive, industrial and backup products).

Educational Qualification Required:
- Bachelor's degree (mandatory) – B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical & Electronics.
Relevant Experience Required: 10+ years.
