Senior Lead Engineer – Mechanical | Chennai, India
We are currently recruiting for 3 Senior Lead Mechanical Engineers to join a major engineering and construction organisation for long-term positions based in Chennai, India.
This opportunity would suit experienced Mechanical Engineers with a strong background delivering major projects across the GCC region and proven technical and constructability expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical engineering activities across assigned projects and packages.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the engineering and construction lifecycle.
- Review mechanical designs, specifications, drawings and technical documentation.
- Ensure engineering solutions are practical, technically compliant and constructible.
- Identify and resolve technical and constructability issues.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering, construction and project teams.
- Review contractor/vendor technical submissions and engineering deliverables as required.
- Support engineering reviews, technical queries and design coordination.
- Ensure mechanical engineering activities comply with relevant project specifications, codes and standards.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of projects in line with quality, programme and project requirements.
Candidate Requirements
- 10–15 years of mechanical engineering experience.
- Previous GCC project experience is mandatory.
- Strong technical mechanical engineering background.
- Demonstrable experience in constructability reviews and resolving engineering issues.
- Experience working on major engineering and/or construction projects.
- Strong multidisciplinary coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to provide technical leadership within a project environment.
- Candidates must be currently based in Chennai or willing to relocate to Chennai, India.
