Job Description Data Science POD Lead
Job Summary
We are looking for a Data Science POD Lead with strong expertise in Machine Learning, Data Analysis, SQL, and Python. The candidate will be responsible for leading a POD team, driving data-driven solutions, developing machine learning models, and supporting business decision-making across the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, leadership capabilities, and hands-on technical expertise.
Primary Skills & Responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis
- Solid understanding of Machine Learning concepts and algorithms, including:
- Regression Models
- Linear Regression
- Logistic Regression
- Time Series & Forecasting Algorithms (preferred recent experience within last 12 years)
- Experience in implementing machine learning models and validating performance
- Basic understanding of statistical concepts and data modeling techniques
- Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis and model development
- Experience with Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and data wrangling techniques
- Ability to clean, preprocess, and analyze large datasets
- Interpret analytical results and present actionable insights to stakeholders
- Strong Excel skills (minimum 7/10 proficiency level)
POD Leadership Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a Data Science POD team
- Drive technical design and solutioning for data science initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including business, engineering, and analytics teams
- Ensure delivery timelines and quality standards are met
- Provide technical guidance and review model performance and improvements
- Drive best practices in data science development and documentation
Secondary Skills
- Experience with Git for version control
- Familiarity with GitHub and GitHub Actions for CI/CD workflows
- Understanding of code management and collaborative development
Good to Have
- Basic knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Experience in stakeholder communication and requirement gathering

Experience Required
