We are seeking a talented individual to join our Marsh Tech team at MMC Corporate. This role will be based in Mumbai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Senior Jira Administrator
As the Senior Jira Administrator, you will serve as the technical owner and subject matter expert (SME) for Jira Service Desk, a critical ticket management solution supporting Marsh McLennan's business processes globally. You will ensure the application runs smoothly and efficiently, collaborating closely with Stakeholders and Business Analysts to deliver tailored Jira Service Desk solutions that meet evolving business needs. Your role will also involve supporting system users through front-end configurations and troubleshooting.

We will count on you to:
- Act as the SME and collaborate with BAs and stakeholders on Jira Service Desk configuration, process improvements, and best practices.
- Implement, configure, and manage complex administrative elements including project workflows, screen schemes, field schemes, permission schemes, notification schemes, dashboards, reports, and key third-party add-ons.
- Manage user onboarding, user accounts, and user groups within Jira Service Desk.
- Provide troubleshooting and support for user issues related to Jira Service Desk.
- Diagnose and resolve general IT issues impacting the application.
- Monitor and manage application performance and availability, ensuring compliance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Oversee application version upgrades and patch management.
- Install, configure, and maintain third-party add-ons for Atlassian products.
- Maintain excellent communication with stakeholders and users to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
- Demonstrate strong expertise in JIRA workflow configuration and customization.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent extensive experience in a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience configuring and administering Atlassian products such as JIRA, Jira Service Desk, and Confluence (certifications are a plus).
- Overall professional experience of 9+ years in IT or related roles.
- Proven experience with installing, configuring, and managing Atlassian Marketplace plugins (e.g., EmailThisIssue, ElementsConnect, TimeToSLA, ScriptRunner).
- Strong skills in using and extending REST/API services, JavaScript, and HTML (mandatory).
- Proficiency in MSSQL database management.
- Competency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively in dynamic, cross-functional, and geographically dispersed teams.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a passion for helping users solve problems efficiently.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong work ethic and adaptability to work across different time zones.
