Job Description: Senior Java Engineer / Java Technical Lead (Remote Working)

Experience: 7 plus years (Relevant Experience)

Notice Period: Immediate till 30 days

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Engineer / Technical Lead to design, develop, and support scalable, cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, GraphQL, and GCP for one of our Fortune 10 Retail Client. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in distributed systems, event-driven architecture, observability, and modern DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, REST, and GraphQL.
• Build and deploy cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Design and manage distributed data solutions using Cassandra and other SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Develop event-driven architectures and real-time data pipelines using Kafka, Pub/Sub, and CDC frameworks.
• Implement resiliency patterns including circuit breakers, retries, rate limiting, and service discovery.
• Use AI assisted dev tools to speed up development.
• Drive CI/CD automation and DevOps best practices throughout the SDLC.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Implement and maintain observability solutions, including logging, monitoring, metrics, alerting, and distributed tracing.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, and cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical solutions.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to architecture reviews, technical standards, and engineering excellence.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
• Strong experience with GraphQL, Cassandra, Kafka/Pub-Sub, Docker, Kubernetes, and GCP.
• Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring frameworks in any of: OpenTelemetry, Micrometer, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and Splunk,
• Distributed tracing tools such as Jaeger and Zipkin
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and secure coding practices.
• Experience with automated testing, Agile methodologies, and production support.
• Experience using AI based Developer enablement tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SRE practices, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and cloud cost optimization.
• GCP and Kubernetes certifications are a plus.
