Senior Software Engineer – Java (Payments)

Role Overview:

Collabera is looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer for one of its largest Big 4 banking customers. You'll join a Domestic Payments crew working on a greenfield payment's product being built from Sprint 0 — a chance to shape the architecture from day one, not just maintain someone else's.

What we are looking for:

• 7-10+ years of backend engineering experience
• Strong Java (8/11/17+), Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs
• Hands-on Kafka experience: internals, not just integration
• AWS exposure, including ECS/EKS/S3
• JWT/security implementation experience
• Comfort working in ambiguity and building from scratch

What you'll do:

• Build scalable Java/Spring Boot microservices for a real-time, event-driven payments product
• Design REST APIs with proper security (JWT) and exception handling
• Work with Kafka for real-time, high-throughput data flows
• Deploy and operate services on AWS (ECS, EKS, S3)
• Collaborate closely in an autonomous, cross-functional squad

Nice to have:

• Banking or payments domain experience
• Exposure to product/enterprise-scale organizations
