Role: Senior Software Engineer – Java
We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer – Java to support enterprise application development, integration services, and digital transformation initiatives for a leading global enterprise client.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, JMS integrations, Kafka, cloud services, DevOps practices, microservices architecture, event-driven architecture, and API gateway technologies.
This role requires strong technical capability in application development, code maintenance, solution design, integration, troubleshooting, and implementation of scalable enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and develop applications within the assigned operational portfolio.
- Maintain and support application code written for enterprise applications.
- Ensure agreed architecture standards are implemented across application development.
- Implement various software design patterns as required by the solution.
- Communicate technical ideas clearly with the team and stakeholders.
- Learn fast and adapt to evolving technology, platform, and delivery requirements.
- Proactively identify possible technical issues, blockers, showstoppers, and root causes.
- Recommend solutions to avoid or resolve technical issues during early stages of architecture and development.
- Address technical concerns, ideas, and suggestions from internal teams and stakeholders.
- Proactively monitor systems to ensure they meet customer expectations and business goals.
- Keep abreast of technology standards, engineering best practices, and industry trends.
- Support application delivery with a focus on performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across development, integration, DevOps, and business functions.
Key Requirements
- 6 to 8 years of experience in software engineering / application development.
- Strong hands-on experience in application programming using Java/J2EE.
- Strong experience in Spring Framework and application development using Spring Boot.
- Experience with different types of JMS integrations such as MQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Native JMS, etc.
- Experience with Kafka-based integrations and messaging solutions.
- Experience in cloud services such as AWS and/or Azure.
- Hands-on understanding of DevOps practices.
- Good knowledge of software design patterns and experience implementing them.
- Good understanding of microservices architecture and principles.
- Good understanding of event-driven architecture.
- Good understanding of API gateway technologies such as Apigee.
- Good understanding of DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, HashiCorp Vault, and Elasticsearch.
- Experience using IDEs such as IntelliJ.
- Experience with version control tools such as Git.
- Working knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Ability to maintain and support enterprise-grade application code.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive mindset with willingness to learn and add value to delivery responsibilities.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively within a team environment.
Good to Have
- Knowledge of database management.
- Experience with SQL.
- Experience with Hibernate and ORM frameworks.
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases.
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum / SDLC environments.
- Exposure to large-scale integration projects.
- Experience supporting business-critical enterprise applications.
