Senior Java Software Engineer

A government agency is seeking a skilled Java Developer to design, develop and maintain secure, scalable and high‑availability backend systems to support critical public service digital platforms.

This role need to work with cross‑functional teams to build robust, compliant and citizen‑centric applications that adhere to strict government security and performance standards.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, test and deploy high‑quality Java‑based applications and microservices for government systems
• Collaborate with analysts, architects and project teams to translate business requirements into stable technical solutions
• Ensure code quality, security, performance and compliance with government IT policies and standards
• Participate in full system development lifecycle including design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance
• Troubleshoot production issues, optimize system performance and support continuous delivery
• Work with databases, APIs, cloud services and modern frameworks to build reliable backend services
• Maintain clear documentation and support knowledge sharing across the team

Requirements:

• Strong hands‑on experience in Java development (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, JPA / Hibernate preferred)
• Practical experience with relational databases (SQL), RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
• Familiarity with software development best practices: code review, unit testing, CI/CD
• Understanding of system security, data protection and compliance requirements in government projects
• Good problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a structured, deadline‑driven environment
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross‑agency stakeholders
