Position Summary: Java Developer

Telna is seeking a skilled and motivated Java Developer to join our engineering team and contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of OSS/BSS platforms and telecom billing systems. This role offers an opportunity to work on mission-critical applications that support SIM management, mobile connectivity, IoT solutions, routers, and other telecommunications services.

You will collaborate closely with architects, senior engineers, product managers, and QA teams to build scalable, reliable, and high-performance software solutions. The ideal candidate possesses strong Java development experience, a solid understanding of software engineering principles, and an interest in telecommunications systems and cloud-native technologies.

Experience with additional programming languages such as Python, Go, JavaScript, or Node.js is considered an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications supporting OSS/BSS and telecom billing systems..

• Collaborate with technical leads, architects, and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions..

• Develop and maintain microservices and RESTful APIs..

• Integrate third-party platforms such as CRM, ERP, payment gateways, and network management systems..

• Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and security..

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices..

• Develop unit tests, integration tests, and support quality assurance initiatives..

• Create and maintain technical documentation for applications, services, and processes..

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while ensuring system stability..

• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and contribute to continuous innovation within the engineering team..

• Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers when required..

Required Qualifications

• 5–10 years of professional experience in Java application development..

• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), design patterns, and software architecture principles..

• Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices-based applications..

• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, or ScyllaDB..

• Proficiency with version control systems such as Git and Bitbucket..

• Experience with build and deployment tools such as Maven, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes..

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment..

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills..

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with OSS/BSS platforms, telecom billing systems, or telecommunications technologies..

• Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Python, Go, JavaScript, or Node.js..

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)..

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices..

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments..

• Exposure to messaging systems, event-driven architectures, or distributed systems is an advantage..
