About the Role - Senior Java Developer

In this role, you will design, build, and maintain high-volume business logic running on the mainframe while refactoring legacy code to enable modern cloud and mobile applications to seamlessly interact with core data. You will also play a key leadership role in guiding and mentoring an offshore team.

Key Responsibilities

• Microservices Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy microservices using Spring Boot 4 and Java 17+.
• Event Streaming: Implement real-time event streaming solutions using Apache Kafka, including consuming, transforming, and enriching streaming data.
• Data Processing & Persistence: Implement change-detection logic, publish new events upon data changes, and integrate/optimize data persistence in MySQL.
• Cloud & Resiliency: Deploy and manage applications on Microsoft Azure PaaS. Build fault-tolerant, scalable, and highly available applications with configured retry mechanisms, dead-letter topics, and idempotent processing.
• Testing & DevOps: Write unit, integration, and performance tests, and collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines.
• Team Leadership & Delivery: Guide and explain technical features to stakeholders, conduct playback sessions, provide work estimates, and mentor an offshore development team.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Java development, with strong hands-on experience in enterprise application development.
• Strong proficiency in Java 17+ and Spring Boot 4.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka for real-time streaming architectures.
• Experience with MySQL optimization and Microsoft Azure PaaS.
• Strong leadership, communication, and offshore team guidance capabilities.
• Experience working with legacy/mainframe applications or mainframe modernization initiatives is an advantage.
