Senior Java Developer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer with 8+ years of experience in designing, developing, deploying, and optimizing enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Cloud Technologies, and performance tuning. The role requires hands-on development, production support, deployment automation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and high-performing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based applications and microservices.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and external systems.
• Develop high-quality, reusable, and maintainable code following best practices.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical solution design.
• Deploy applications across cloud and on-premise environments.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment processes.
• Identify and resolve application performance bottlenecks.
• Conduct performance tuning of APIs, database queries, JVM, and application servers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, Product Owners, and Architects.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
• Support monitoring, logging, and observability initiatives.
• Prepare technical documentation and deployment runbooks.

Required Skills & Experience

Required Technical Skills:

• 8-10 years of software engineering
• Strong proficiency in Java 8/11/17+
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Hibernate/JPA
• Strong understanding of Microservices & Mainframe Architecture
• Expertise in REST APIs and API Security
• Experience with Kafka or other messaging solutions
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra)
• Experience with Git, Maven, Jenkins
• Hands-on experience in CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Cloud experience on Azure, or GCP
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Deployment & DevOps Experience:

• Experience deploying applications in cloud environments
• Infrastructure as Code exposure (Terraform/CloudFormation preferred)
• Container orchestration using Kubernetes
• Monitoring and logging implementation
• Production release management and rollback strategies

Performance Optimization Skills:

• JVM tuning and memory optimization
• Thread dump and heap dump analysis
• SQL query tuning and database performance optimization
• API response time optimization
• Caching strategies (Redis, Hazelcast, etc.)
• Load and stress testing analysis
• Observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, OpenTelemetry, ELK, or Datadog
• Application monitoring and performance benchmarking
