Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Workplace Project Manager to lead a Fortune 500 client's Modern Workplace transformation across global operations, with primary stakeholder engagement and delivery aligned to EMEA time zones. You will own complex, multi‑year workplace and end‑user computing initiatives that enable secure, productive ways of working for a globally distributed workforce.

Key mission

As the Senior Workplace Project Manager, you will plan, execute, and deliver workplace and end‑user device projects that align with the client's digital workplace strategy and security objectives. You will partner closely with M365 & Workplace, Endpoint Management, Security, and business stakeholders to modernize collaboration, endpoint, and identity services while ensuring a frictionless user experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the Modern Workplace program with a strong focus on ISO/IEC 27001 compliance and the Security Control Framework (SCF), ensuring controls are embedded into workplace and endpoint projects.
  • Deliver workstreams across the M365 portfolio (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Power Platform) including migrations, rollouts, and user adoption initiatives.
  • Lead endpoint management projects across Windows and MacBook environments, including OS upgrades, device refresh programs, Intune‑based policy rollouts, and standard image/profile definitions.
  • Drive implementation, integration, and global adoption of SAP Workzone as the central digital launchpad for end users.
  • Ensure all workplace and endpoint projects align with the client's Azure cloud strategy, identity and access architecture (Azure AD / Entra ID), and the Workplace & Collaboration domain of the Digital Business Architecture.
  • Own delivery for Workplace / End‑User Device projects and rollouts (Intune, M365, Active Directory, device onboarding/offboarding, remote access, and collaboration tooling).
  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams and vendors across multiple geographies; manage dependencies, SLAs, risks, and escalations to keep delivery on track.
  • Oversee operational readiness and transition‑to‑run, including knowledge transfer, support runbooks, and clear ownership for incident, problem, and change processes.
  • Support end‑user issue resolution at scale by ensuring robust problem management, root cause analysis, and remediation plans for major incidents and recurring device or collaboration issues.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes clearly and succinctly to senior stakeholders and leadership through status reports, steering committees, and executive updates.
  • Champion modern Ways of Working, including content hygiene and governance, digital workspace design, and AI‑enabled productivity within the M365 ecosystem.
  • Apply appropriate delivery methodology for each initiative (Scrum, Kanban, or Waterfall) and coach teams on ceremonies, boards, and reporting to maintain transparency and predictability.

Required experience and skills

  • 12–14 years of overall IT experience, with at least 7 years in project/program management leading enterprise IT or workplace initiatives.
  • Proven end‑to‑end delivery experience across:
  • M365 services (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Power Platform).
  • Endpoint management for Windows and MacBook devices using Intune (or equivalent MDM), including OS lifecycle, device compliance, and configuration policies.
  • Active Directory / Azure AD (Entra ID) for endpoint and user lifecycle management, access control, and group policy equivalents.
  • Strong understanding of ISO/IEC 27001 and enterprise security frameworks, with demonstrable experience applying them in workplace or endpoint projects.
  • Hands‑on experience managing Workplace / End‑User Device projects and rollouts: device refresh programs, VPN/remote access enhancements, collaboration tool upgrades, client rollouts, and productivity tooling rationalization.
  • Experience working closely with support/operations teams and Service Desk to ensure smooth handover, incident and problem management, and continuous improvement of end‑user experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure services related to Modern Workplace (identity, conditional access, security, monitoring); exposure to SAP Workzone is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated success operating in large, global, matrixed environments with diverse stakeholder groups (IT, Security, HR, business functions, vendors).

Ways of working and methodologies

  • Proven track record delivering projects using Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall as appropriate, including hybrid models where necessary.
  • Proficiency with Agile and traditional project tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, Confluence, Planner, or equivalent).
  • Strong ability to design and manage backlogs, Kanban boards, sprint plans, and release plans; comfortable switching between iterative and sequential delivery models based on risk, scope, and regulatory needs.

Communication and language

  • Fluent English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills suitable for senior leadership, steering committees, and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills; able to translate complex technical topics into clear business outcomes and decisions.
  • Comfortable presenting to executive audiences and facilitating workshops across time zones, with core availability during EMEA business hours.

Education and certifications (preferred)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • Certifications such as PMP / PRINCE2, M365 Enterprise Admin Expert, Microsoft Azure (Administrator/Architect), ITIL v4, and ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor are preferred.

Why this role

Join a high‑visibility program shaping the digital workplace for a global enterprise. You will work with cutting‑edge collaboration, security, and AI‑driven productivity tools, leading critical workplace and end‑user device initiatives with direct exposure to senior technology and business leadership.
