Job Description

As a Senior IT Manager - Digital Health at Medtronic, you'll lead the Global R&D IT transformation, focusing on seamless integration of IT systems and R&D engineering applications. You'll drive innovation, ensure operational efficiency, and lead a large, diverse team of architects, project managers, and business analysts, contributing to Medtronic's mission in healthcare technology.

A Day in the Life

You will lead with purpose, focusing on:

  • Managing and mentoring a large team of employees and contingents.
  • Developing and executing IT strategies for R&D operating units.
  • Overseeing implementation of development efforts for multiple projects.
  • Engaging with business stakeholders to align IT solutions with needs.
  • Fostering strong relationships with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Leading quality control and ensuring delivery of enhancements.
  • Providing technical leadership and coaching to your team.
  • Staying current on IT integration trends and recommending innovative solutions.
  • Managing budgeting and forecasting for resources, vendors, and project costs.
  • Providing regular status reports to management and stakeholders.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • 18+ years of IT experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, MCA, or MSc.
  • 8+ years of managerial experience, preferably with a team of 50+.
  • 5+ years in Global R&D IT, Digital Health IT, or Patient Care IT.
  • Experience in implementing R&D applications and platforms, Cloud, Data & Automation.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven project/program management and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience as an Agile leader with a background in global technology platform transformation.
  • Demonstrated team mentorship and coaching abilities.

Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Previous Medtronic experience.
  • MBA or Master's Degree in IT/Computer Science.
  • Experience in change management and managing global organizations/stakeholders.
  • Experience with big data-related projects.
