Senior/IT Engineer (Shipping/Vessel IT)

Our client is a reputable Shipping (tanker) brand. In view of expansion, they are currently seeking a suitably qualified candidate to join them as Senior/IT Engineer (Shipping/Vessel IT).

In this role, you will be responsible for the following :

• Being first point of contact for all employees

• Handle a full set of complex technology on-premises (50%) and the cloud (50%)

• Advise management on the best solution for their operation within the compliance/security framework within the group of companies

• Managing day to day infrastructure and helpdesk related incidents/requests

• Evaluating suitable technology for the fleets, proof-of-concept to implementation and support

• Ad-hoc duties as and when assigned

Infrastructure Knowledge required:

• Microsoft Azure and Office 365

• Windows Server 2025 Administration with working knowledge of Domain Controller, DHCP, DNS

• Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) Intune

• Knowledge and understanding of enterprise networks and integration with SaaS platforms

• Familiarity with O365 services including Exchange Online, Office, Teams and Azure Active Directory

• End User Computing tech stack (Intune, MDT, MDM, Autopilot)

• End users support for windows system (windows 11)

Software Support Knowledge required:

• Install, configure and maintain workstations hardware and software (Operating system and applications such as Windows 11, Office 365), SCCM knowledge

• Hands-on experience in AD, ACL, GPO

• Knowledge of telephone systems (i.e. Teams Calls)

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in relevant IT discipline

• Ideally 5 years and above of relevant working experience in setting up Vessel's IT Infrastructure (network, bandwidth/application control and Wi-Fi deployment)

• Knowledge of the Microsoft Platform and Cloud Services is essential

• Experience in Microsoft 365 and Cloud related projects is essential

• Willing to go on board Vessel and ship yard

• Working experience in shipping business would be an advantage

• Retrofit existing vessels with new IT Infrastructure design

• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Great customer engagement skills

• Strong documentation skills

• Possess Global outlook with strong ability to work across organizational and cultural boundaries

• Energetic, resilient and resourceful

• Able to work accurately under pressure
