Job Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Own perpetual inventory records in ERP; maintain system-to-physical accuracy of ≥99% for A-class, high-value and long-lead components, and ≥98% overall.
  • Design and execute a cycle-count programme — weekly and monthly for A-class, B-class and C-class components — and lead periodic wall-to-wall physical stock takes.
  • Investigate every variance to documented root cause; drive corrective and preventive action rather than adjustment entries.
  • Own bin location mapping, part-number and labelling standards, barcode/QR implementation and store layout optimisation.
  • Enforce FIFO, LIFO and FEFO discipline across all material categories.
  • Manage MSL (Moisture Sensitive Level) components, including dry cabinet storage, humidity indicator card checks, floor-life tracking and bake process control per J-STD-033.
  • Control shelf-life materials — solder paste, flux, adhesives, conformal coating and epoxies — including cold-storage discipline, thaw logs and expiry alerts.
  • Maintain reel, tray, tube and stick segregation; manage partial reel reconciliation, X-ray counting and reel splicing records.
  • Enforce ESD-safe handling and storage across stores and staging areas in line with IEC 61340-5-1 / ANSI-ESD S20.20.
  • Maintain traceability at lot and date-code level to satisfy customer and regulatory recall requirements.
  • Ensure on-time, accurate kitting against SMT, through-hole and box-build schedules; drive kit readiness reviews ahead of each build.
  • Prevent line stoppages through daily shortage tracking, expedite escalation and shortage-risk visibility to Planning and Purchase.
  • Manage WIP inventory, shop-floor issue and return, excess reconciliation on job closure, and rejection, rework and quarantine stock.
  • Reconcile BOM-based standard consumption against actual issue; monitor, report and reduce attrition, setup loss and scrap at component level.
  • Manage finished-goods inventory, packing material stock and dispatch readiness.
  • Administer customer free-issue and consigned material under separate accounting, with periodic reconciliation statements issued to the customer.
  • Manage supplier consignment stock, VMI arrangements and associated consumption reporting.
  • Handle rejection returns to suppliers, debit note coordination and replacement tracking with Purchase and Quality.
  • Drive ERP data integrity, including item master hygiene, UOM discipline, reorder levels, safety stock parameters and BOM accuracy.
  • Support ERP / WMS implementation, enhancement and barcode scanning rollout; act as the materials-side process owner.
  • Publish periodic MIS covering inventory turns, days-on-hand, stock value, ageing trend, fill rate, kit readiness and shortage analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 — and IATF 16949 where applicable — together with customer-specific quality requirements.
  • Run structured FSN (Fast–Slow–Non-moving), ABC value and VED criticality analyses on a defined monthly cadence.
  • Maintain ageing buckets — 0–30 / 31–90 / 91–180 / 181–365 / 365+ days — by part, customer programme and value; publish a monthly Inventory Health Dashboard to management.
  • Classify, tag and physically segregate slow-moving, non-moving and dead stock so it does not distort available-to-promise or kitting logic.
  • Establish and maintain the Excess & Obsolete (E&O) provisioning schedule.
  • Perform root-cause analysis on every dead-stock accumulation, including ECN or design change, EOL and NRND components, supplier MOQ over-buy, cancelled or deferred customer schedules, forecast error, over-ordering against attrition, and qualification failures.
  • Support internal, statutory, customer and stock audits with complete documentation.
  • Author and maintain SOPs and work instructions for every store and inventory process; train the team against them.
  • Represent Inventory in daily production meetings, weekly S&OP reviews and monthly management reviews.
Experience

A minimum of 3 years in an Electronics Manufacturing Services or electronics contract-manufacturing environment, with direct hands-on exposure to:

  • PCBA / SMT and box-build assembly operations
  • Multi-level BOMs with high SKU counts, typically 500+ active part numbers
Quick Check
  • I can work full-time from Bytebeam's Bangalore office.
