Senior Instrumentation Designer

Instrumentation Design & Modeling

• Develop 3D models of instrumentation systems using SmartPlant 3D (SP3D) in compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Design cable trays, junction boxes, instrument panels, and field instrument layouts for offshore facilities.
• Ensure proper integration of instrumentation systems with piping, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.

Preparation of Design Deliverables

• Generate instrumentation layout drawings, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and hook-up drawings using SP3D.
• Develop cable routing and tray layouts in coordination with electrical and structural teams.
• Prepare IO lists, instrument index, and material take-offs (MTOs) for procurement and construction.

Coordination & Collaboration

• Coordinate with engineering teams, project managers, and offshore site personnel to ensure design feasibility and compliance.
• Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and procurement teams to confirm instrumentation specifications and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Participate in model reviews (30%, 60%, 90%), clash detection, and constructability analysis sessions.

Compliance & Standards

• Ensure adherence to relevant standards: API, IEC, NEC, ISA, and other international codes for offshore instrumentation systems.
• Apply company and client HSE policies in all design and modeling activities.
• Review and provide technical feedback on vendor drawings and ensure alignment with design requirements.

Site & Offshore Support

• Provide technical support during fabrication, construction, and commissioning of offshore instrumentation systems.
• Respond to RFIs (Requests for Information), manage design changes, and assist in as-built documentation updates.
