Job Description

Senior Infrastructure Engineer – IBM MQ Platform (Middleware Engineering)

  • This role is focused on designing, engineering, and modernizing the enterprise IBM MQ messaging platform within the CTO Middleware Engineering team.
  • The engineer will help build a scalable, secure, resilient, and automated MQ infrastructure, working closely with infrastructure, cloud, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build enterprise-grade IBM MQ infrastructure.
  • Develop automation and operational tooling using Python and Ansible.
  • Architect highly available, scalable, and resilient messaging solutions.
  • Implement monitoring and observability using Grafana and Prometheus.
  • Review cloud security controls, secrets management, and key rotation processes.
  • Design, test, troubleshoot, and optimize infrastructure solutions.
  • Lead complex infrastructure upgrades and modernization initiatives.
  • Identify recurring issues and develop long-term solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve platform reliability and performance.
  • Follow Agile development and engineering practices.

Required Experience

  • 4+ years in Infrastructure Engineering / Platform Engineering.
  • 2+ years of scripting experience.
  • 2+ years of IBM MQ experience.

Preferred Experience

  • 3+ years with IBM MQ / MQ Appliance.
  • 3+ years of Python development.
  • 2+ years of Ansible automation.
  • 2+ years of Grafana monitoring.
  • Experience with Prometheus.
  • Strong Linux knowledge.
  • Experience managing enterprise-scale infrastructure environments.
