Job Description
Experience & Support Model: 7+ years of hands-on Informix DBA experience with 24x7 production support, including rotational/on-call responsibilities in enterprise on-prem environments.
Architecture & Performance: Strong expertise in Informix architecture, scaling, partitioning, consistency models, throughput management, and performance tuning (queries, indexes, configurations).
High Availability & DR: Deep knowledge of HDR, ER, replication, HA/DR strategies, backup & recovery, and failover mechanisms.
Operations & Troubleshooting: Proactive health checks, incident management, root cause analysis, patching, upgrades, migrations, and performance optimization.
Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in mainframe utilities, JCL, REXX, Python, Shell scripting; experience with Ansible, Terraform, IaC, and automation tools.
Cloud & Monitoring: Exposure to Azure and GCP deployments/migrations; monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, Nagios.
Security & Compliance: Strong understanding of authentication, access control, encryption, audit compliance, and license management.
Collaboration & Documentation: Experience working with application and infrastructure teams; strong communication and documentation skills
