Summary
The Senior I&C Engineer is responsible for leading the design, engineering, and integration of instrumentation and control systems for FPSO/FSO/FPU/FSRU/CPP projects. This role ensures that instrumentation deliverables meet project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements across all project phases from FEED to commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Develop and review instrumentation and control system designs, including datasheets, specifications, I/O lists, instrument index, cause & effect charts, cable schedule, hook-up drawing, loop diagrams and control philosophies/narratives.
- Ensure compliance with IEC, ISA, API, and international standards, as well as classification society requirements.
- Conduct instrument sizing and selection (flow, pressure, temperature, level, analyzers, transmitters, control valves).
- Support control system architecture design (DCS, ESD, F&G, PLCs, SCADA systems). Review and interface with vendors.
- Review P&ID, 3Dmodelling.
- Support procurement activities including TBE, vendor clarification and FAT/SAT.
- Support site activities including installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting as required.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior I&C engineers.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (Process, Mechanical, HVAC, Electrical, Telecom, Piping, Safety etc.,)
- Participate in HAZOP, SIL, LOPA and risk assessments.
- Assigned as I&C lead in project as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Control, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 8-12 years instrumentation engineering experience in the oil & gas / FPSO / EPC industry.
- Prior offshore or shipyard experience
- Professional certification or TUV Function Safety certification
- Proficient in instrumentation engineering tools such as SPI (SmartPlant Instrumentation/INtools).
- Strong knowledge of control system logic, I/O configuration, and integration.
- Skilled in instrument sizing calculations and selection for oil & gas applications.
- Familiarity with SIL classification, reliability, and functional safety requirements.
- Excellent written and communications skills.
