Key Responsibilities
I. Strategic HR Framework
- Set up the HR department framework with clear SOPs and an HR handbook.
- Define and document processes for recruitment, induction, onboarding, and performance evaluation.
- Audit existing HR processes and create a structured, scalable HR system.
- Ensure end-to-end visibility across recruitment, onboarding, payroll, performance, and compliance from Day Zero.
- Conduct quarterly process reviews to keep HR aligned with business goals.
II. Policy, Compliance & POSH
- Design and implement company policies leave, attendance, expense reimbursement, WFH, POSH, and code of conduct.
- Automate policy access, communication and acknowledgments through Zoho People / HRMS.
- Maintain a policy governance framework version control, approvals, communication and digital acknowledgements (e-sign).
- Conduct regular policy reviews for legal compliance and relevance.
- Support and implement POSH committee processes and training.
III. Workforce & Performance Lifecycle
- Standardize the recruitment & approvals process, ensuring proper documentation and HRMS integration.
- Lead induction & onboarding, including digital tutorials and HR portal walkthroughs.
- Design and implement performance appraisal, goal-setting, promotion and increment frameworks.
- Link performance outcomes to compensation, bonuses and succession planning.
- Drive culture, engagement and grievance redressal through structured programs and communication channels.
IV. Rewards, Payroll & Financial Compliance
- Own monthly payroll through Zoho Payroll verification, approvals, and statutory compliance.
- Ensure timely filings for PF, ESIC, TDS, PT, Bonus, Gratuity, etc.
- Coordinate closely with Finance for payroll reconciliation and HR audits.
- Track overtime, on-field allowances and related dashboards.
Employee Financial Awareness & ITR Support
- Organise annual ITR awareness sessions with external CAs.
- Guide employees on investment declarations, proofs and tax-saving options.
- Maintain a central HRMS repository for ITR-related communication and templates.
- Coordinate with Finance to ensure employee declarations reflect correctly in payroll.
V. HR Technology, Reporting & Governance
- Lead the implementation and optimisation of Zoho (People, Expenses & Payroll,).
- Build HR dashboards for attendance, attrition, payroll cost, overtime and engagement.
- Ensure data accuracy, security and access control in all HR systems.
- Automate monthly HR summaries & MIS for leadership.
- Prepare monthly HR reports (headcount, attrition, hiring metrics, payroll cost, overtime, etc.) and provide insights for workforce planning.
- Maintain audit trails for all payroll and policy changes.
VI. Exit & Offboarding
- Manage exit formalities, asset handover and knowledge transfer.
- Conduct exit interviews, track attrition trends and share insights with leadership.
- Ensure timely full & final settlements and complete compliance documentation.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in core HR, with strong exposure to HR strategy + operations.
- Experience setting up or restructuring HR processes in a growing organisation / startup / agency.
- Hands-on experience with HRMS tools (preferably only Zoho People Zoho Expenses & Zoho Payroll).
- Strong understanding of Indian labour laws, PF, ESIC, TDS, POSH, and payroll compliance.
- Comfort with data, dashboards and MIS you love tracking numbers as much as people.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and documentation skills.
