About the role
We are seeking a Senior Hardware Validation & Systems Engineer to lead system-level testing and lab architecture for next-generation industrial networking products used in utility and substation environments.
Key responsibilities
- Design and manage large-scale hardware validation labs and industrial network test environments.
- Develop and execute test plans for Layer 2/3 switching, VLANs, PTP/IEEE 1588, PRP, HSR, and network redundancy.
- Conduct performance, stress, interoperability, signal-integrity, PoE, and transceiver testing.
- Measure throughput, latency, jitter, packet loss, synchronization accuracy, and system stability.
- Lead compliance and certification activities for IEC 61850-3, IEEE 1613, EMC, and environmental requirements.
- Coordinate with external certification laboratories and manage root-cause analysis for failures.
- Drive test automation, documentation, lab process improvements, and DFT practices.
- Collaborate with R&D, compliance, industrialization, and manufacturing teams.
- Mentor junior engineers and support the transition from product validation to mass production.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, or related engineering.
- 7–10 years of experience in hardware validation, systems testing, or industrial networking.
- Strong knowledge of industrial Ethernet, Layer 2/3 switching, VLANs, PTP, PRP, HSR, and network performance testing.
- Experience with IEC 61850, substation automation, protection relays, SCADA, or utility-grade systems.
- Proficiency with traffic generators, protocol analyzers, oscilloscopes, and power diagnostic tools.
- Experience with hardware qualification, environmental testing, EMC, and product certification.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and technical leadership skills.
Preferred: Experience with Python or test automation tools, Wireshark, Ixia, Spirent, Keysight, RTDS, or OPAL-RT.
