Senior Schematic Engineer / Senior High-Speed Design Engineer / Senior Hardware Engineer

Compensation : 25 lakhs to 30 lakhs per annum (depending on skills and experience)
About the Opportunity
We are seeking highly skilled and passionate Hardware Design Professionals to join our engineering team in Pondicherry. This role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge communication, networking, and embedded hardware products involving high-speed digital design, processor-based systems, FPGA platforms, and advanced PCB development.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in end-to-end hardware product development, from requirements capture and schematic design through board bring-up, validation, and mass production support.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware Architecture & Design
- Lead end-to-end hardware product development activities from concept to production.
- Analyze product requirements and create robust hardware architectures.
- Design complex high-speed digital schematics using industry-standard tools.
- Develop processor, FPGA, and controller-based hardware platforms.
- Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with product specifications.
High-Speed Interface Design
- Design and implement high-speed interfaces including:
- PCIe
- DDR4
- USB 3.0
- MIPI
- 1G/10G Ethernet (Optical/Electrical)
- Develop and troubleshoot low-speed communication interfaces such as:
- SPI
- I2C
- UART
- GPIO and other peripheral interfaces
PCB Development & Layout Review
- Guide PCB layout teams on high-speed design requirements and best practices.
- Review PCB stack-ups, routing constraints, placement strategies, and layout quality.
- Evaluate and interpret Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) simulation results.
- Collaborate closely with Mechanical, Firmware, Manufacturing, and Cross-functional Engineering teams.
Hardware Bring-Up & Validation
- Lead board bring-up, debugging, and hardware validation activities.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware issues during development and production stages.
- Support prototype testing and production qualification.
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation including:
- Engineering Specifications
- Design Documents
- Bring-up Plans
- Test Procedures
- Validation Reports
- Manufacturing Support Documents
Technical Leadership
- Independently own hardware development tasks and deliver projects with minimal supervision.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across teams.
- Drive engineering excellence and design quality improvements.
Required Technical Skills
Hardware Design Expertise
- Strong hands-on experience in high-speed schematic design.
- Proven experience in complete product development lifecycle from requirement analysis to mass production.
- Experience in communication and networking hardware development is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of RF design will be considered an added advantage.
Processor & FPGA Platforms
Strong experience working with one or more of the following platforms:
- ARM-based Processors
- FPGAs
- Microcontrollers
Preferred experience with:
- Xilinx
- NXP
- Microchip
- Similar industry-standard platforms
Design Tools
Hands-on expertise with one or more of the following:
- Cadence
- Allegro
- Altium Designer
High-Speed Technologies
Strong practical knowledge of:
- PCIe
- DDR4
- USB 3.0
- MIPI
- Gigabit Ethernet
- 10G Ethernet
Low-Speed Interfaces
Experience with:
- SPI
- I2C
- UART
- CAN (preferred)
- GPIO Interfaces
Lab & Debugging Skills
Hands-on experience with:
- Digital Oscilloscopes
- Multimeters
- Function Generators

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related disciplines.

- Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Experience working in cross-functional product development environments.
