The team you will be a part of
The Electrical Engineering team designs, develops or coordinates development of components, small systems, quality systems, processes or materials.
This Role In Summary
The Hardware Engineering position is responsible for designing electronics, from requirements to production release embedded in Whirlpool Appliances. You will execute engineering tasks as part of cross-functional teams for new product development programs responsible for concepts, requirements, design, analysis and test. The specifics of this role are focused on design, analysis and test of electronic controls over a wide range of operational environments, markets and feature sets.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Understanding of function concepts:
- -Develop and validate embedded complex hardware applications, mostly focused on Appliance Control unit / HMI solutions
- -Design hardware solutions to drive system optimization, improve module/component design and enhance product reliability.
- -Interact with system integrators to review and consolidate application requirements.
- -Select and integrate hardware modules to build embedded hardware applications.
- -Electronic/Electrical Circuit Model/Simulation
- -PCB Layout design, applied simulation and component selection for hardware execution.
- -Prototype assembly, bring up, debugging, and functional verification
- -Working with and managing suppliers/manufacturing partners .
- - Basic knowledge of EMI/ECM tests, standards
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION S Eg. B.Tech-Mech/ Polymer Engg/ + diploma from CIPET AGE NA EX P BE 3-6 yrs, ME 0-5 yrs Example:-Automotive Industry/ Injection Molding Suppliers / Manufacturers
Preferred Skills And Experiences
Application of Technical tools:
- -Knowledge of engineering tools to verify design for assembly/reliability/manufacturability/safety
- -Schematic Capture and EDA simulations, PCB layout - CADENCE, Mentor Graphics etc
- -HW Verification Testing using lab equipments, such as DSO, Multimeters etc
- -EMI/EMC, Noise immunity, problem solving/identifying solution.
- -HW reliability, FMEA, P-Diagrams etc Key Deliverables
- Patents/ Research / External presentations :
- - Contribute in innovation through project solution ideas or ideation events
- Knowledge Management :
- - Generate and capture knowledge for future reuse
- - Awareness of Whirlpool roadmap/architecture/ZBP
- - Windchill knowledge and use.
Additional Information
Industry standard tool Alegro Cadence - - - - - KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES MANAGERIAL - Able to work with both Global and regional Groups inside EES and Cross platforms, influencing positively the organization in all directions(both Vertical and Horizontal) Effective communication and negotiating skills. Familiarity with 6 Sigma Methodology and EMC & EMI theory, Experience designing high volume products dealing with contract manufacturers Mixed-signal and embedded board-level design experience incl. Up to 32-bit microcontrollers . - - - Project assessment & risk management Hands-on experience building prototype electronics: assembly, board bring-up debugging, functional verification, modification of mechanical housings Knowledge of semiconductor theory and manufacturing, digital design, analog design, power supplies, transmission lines and other fundamentals of electronics and semiconductors technology are all highly useful. Strong documentation writing skills
