Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer (6–8 years experience) to work on detailed hardware design, analysis, and validation of electronic products. The role focuses on hands‑on schematic design, analog front‑end implementation for accurate sensor readings, EMI/EMC‑aware design practices, component selection, and lifecycle support, while working under defined system architecture and guidance from technical leads.
Roles & Responsibilities
Hardware Design & Implementation
- Design and develop schematics for assigned hardware blocks or subsystems
- Implement analog front‑end (AFE) circuits for accurate sensor measurements, including:
- Signal conditioning
- Filtering and amplification
- ADC interfacing and reference circuits
- Support MCU / processor selection by evaluating peripherals, performance, power, and availability
- Perform component selection for assigned circuits, considering cost, availability, and reliability
- Support PCB layout reviews with focus on signal integrity, power integrity, and noise control
Schematics Review & Debug
- Participate in schematic reviews for own designs and peer designs
- Debug hardware issues during prototype, bring‑up, and validation using lab equipment
- Support root‑cause analysis of functional, performance, or reliability issues
EMI / EMC‑Aware Design
- Apply EMI/EMC design best practices in schematics and layout guidelines, including:
- Grounding and decoupling
- Filtering and protection circuits
- Signal routing considerations
- Support EMI/EMC testing and debugging under guidance from senior or lead engineers
Obsolescence & Legacy Product Support
- Support component obsolescence activities, including:
- Identifying alternate components
- Updating schematics and BOMs
- Supporting validation of replacement parts
- Contribute to design updates and improvements for legacy products, such as:
- Minor redesigns
- Cost optimization changes
- Reliability fixes based on field feedback
Documentation
- Prepare and maintain detailed hardware design documentation for assigned modules, including:
- Schematic notes and design rationale
- Interface descriptions
- Test and validation notes
- Ensure documentation is updated as part of design changes and ECOs
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work closely with firmware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, test, and quality teams
Support manufacturing bring‑up, pilot builds, and production issue resolution
Communicate design intent, limitations, and issues clearly to stakeholders
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or related field
6–8 years of hands‑on experience in hardware design and development
Solid experience in:
- Analog and mixed‑signal circuit design
- Sensor interfacing and measurement circuits
- MCU / processor‑based designs
- Experience using schematic capture and PCB design tools (Altium, Cadence, Mentor, or equivalent)
- Practical lab debugging experience (oscilloscope, DMM, logic analyzer)
- Good technical documentation and communication skills
