Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and creative Head of Graphic Design to lead the visual design function for our media news channel. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all on-air and off-air graphic content, ensuring high-quality, visually compelling designs that align with the channel's brand identity and editorial standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage the graphic design team across broadcast and digital platforms.
- Oversee the creation of on-air graphics including news templates, lower-thirds, tickers, promos, explainers, and special program visuals.
- Collaborate closely with Editorial, Production, Marketing, and Digital teams to deliver visually impactful content.
- Ensure consistency in branding, design standards, and visual storytelling across all platforms.
- Plan, assign, and review design projects while meeting tight news deadlines.
- Introduce innovative design concepts and keep up with current trends in broadcast and digital media graphics.
- Maintain quality control and ensure all graphics meet technical and aesthetic standards.
- Manage workflows, timelines, and resource allocation efficiently.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably in a media/news channel or broadcast environment.
- Proven experience in a lead or managerial role.
- Strong expertise in design tools such as Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro (or equivalent).
- Good understanding of broadcast graphics, motion design, and newsroom workflows.
- Excellent creative, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced news environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a keen eye for visual storytelling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with news graphics systems and broadcast workflows.
- Knowledge of digital and social media design requirements is an added advantage.
