About the Role

Apex Consulting is looking for a Senior Graphic Designer to strengthen and elevate our existing graphics team. This role combines hands-on design, creative leadership, quality control, team development, and client communication.

The ideal candidate can bring consistency to creative work across projects, guide designers toward a shared visual direction, and translate client requirements into clear, effective design solutions. They should also have a strong understanding of AI-assisted creative tools and know how to use them responsibly to improve quality, efficiency, and ideation.

Key ResponsibilitiesCreative Leadership and Team Development

• Lead, mentor, and support the existing graphic design team.
• Review creative work and provide clear, constructive, and actionable feedback.
• Align designers on brand guidelines, project objectives, and quality standards.
• Identify skill gaps and conduct regular training, design reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Encourage accountability, collaboration, creative thinking, and continuous improvement.
• Help allocate work based on project priorities, deadlines, and team strengths.

Design Direction and Quality Control

• Establish a consistent creative direction across client and internal projects.
• Ensure all deliverables are visually strong, accurate, on-brand, and ready for publication.
• Improve existing design processes, templates, brand systems, and review workflows.
• Develop concepts and designs for digital campaigns, social media, presentations, advertisements, websites, reports, and other marketing materials.
• Maintain organized design files, asset libraries, templates, and version-control practices.
• Remain hands-on and support the team with high-priority or complex design assignments.

Client Communication

• Participate in client meetings, briefings, presentations, and feedback discussions.
• Understand the creative perspective behind each project and translate business requirements into effective visual solutions.
• Ask the right questions to clarify objectives, audiences, brand expectations, and deliverables.
• Present concepts confidently and explain the reasoning behind creative decisions.
• Manage feedback professionally and guide clients toward solutions that balance their preferences with sound design principles.
• Coordinate with account managers, marketing teams, content writers, and other stakeholders.

AI-Assisted Creative Work

• Use AI tools for ideation, image generation, editing, moodboarding, content development, and workflow improvement.
• Guide the team in using AI effectively without compromising originality, brand consistency, or quality.
• Understand the limitations, ethical considerations, copyright concerns, and quality-control requirements of AI-generated content.
• Explore new tools and recommend practical ways to integrate them into the creative process.
• Ensure every AI-assisted output is reviewed, refined, and suitable for professional client use.

Required Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of professional graphic design experience.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating brand, digital, campaign, and marketing design work.
• Previous experience leading, mentoring, or supervising a creative team.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Experience with Figma, Canva, presentation-design tools, or similar platforms.
• Working knowledge of AI creative tools such as Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, DALL·E, Runway, or comparable platforms.
• Strong understanding of typography, colour, composition, visual hierarchy, branding, and layout.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and client-management skills.
• Ability to interpret briefs, organise priorities, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and the confidence to maintain high creative standards.
• Ability to receive feedback objectively and turn it into practical improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field.
• Experience in a consulting, agency, marketing, or client-service environment.
• Knowledge of motion graphics, video editing, UI design, or web design.
• Experience building brand guidelines, design systems, and reusable templates.
• Familiarity with project-management and creative collaboration tools.
