Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Leverage prior job experience (preferably Big 4 or relevant industry background)
  • Broaden accounting, finance, and analytical capabilities
  • Supervise and mentor Associate Fund Accountants and Fund Accountants
  • Train new employees
  • Administer, report, and review financials in line with industry standards
  • Respond to auditor queries
  • Increase communication and interaction with clients and their investors
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for stakeholders
  • Calculate and review performance returns
  • Support and coordinate client cash distributions
  • Analyze and interpret accounting records, financial statements, and audit documents for accuracy and compliance
  • Develop leadership skills through project involvement and initiative
  • Review documents to ensure compliance with client agreements

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • 5+ years of finance or accounting experience
  • Experience with Closed-End Funds, Private Equity, PERE, and CMBS preferred
  • Strong understanding of assigned fund investments and broader market trends
  • Familiarity with Capital Calls, Distributions, and Management Fees
  • Exposure to:
  • Waterfall Calculations, Hurdle Rate, Catch-up, and Carry
  • Loan Accounting (including journal entries, interest accruals, PIK, paydowns, prepayments, defaults, amortization of OID, premium, and discount)
  • Ability to create SOPs and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Proficiency in cash reconciliation and expense reimbursement
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • CA or CMA eligibility a plus
  • Exposure to loan administration, agency services, trade settlement, and CLO manager services
