Position Summary:

Ferguson is seeking a Full Stack Developer to design, build, and support modern, scalable applications across backend services and frontend user interfaces. This role will contribute to Ferguson's ongoing modernization journey while also delivering responsive React based user experiences. You will participate in all aspects of the Software Development lifecycle by supporting existing software development efforts and troubleshooting issues as they occur while also developing new software code across multiple small to medium projects concurrently. We're looking for a team member with a passion to learn new technologies and the ability to produce in a technology-driven environment.

The ideal candidate will work closely with product owners, architects, and cross functional engineering teams to deliver high quality, event driven solutions that support critical business capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, and React
• Modernize legacy integrations transitioning from Java 8 and Apache Camel to Java 17+ Spring Boot (future upgrade to Java 21)
• Build and expose RESTful APIs supporting internal and external consumers
• Implement event driven architectures using Azure Service Bus
• Develop and support applications using MongoDB (NoSQL) and related data access patterns
• Create responsive, user friendly React frontend components following UI and accessibility standards
• Use Maven for application builds and dependency management
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Ensure application performance, reliability, scalability, and security
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and support handoff to operations teams
• Follow Ferguson SDLC standards, coding best practices, and agile delivery processes

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 3–6 years of experience as a Full Stack or Software Developer
• Strong backend experience with Java (8+), Spring Boot, and REST APIs
• Understanding and practical experience with JAVA is a requirement
• Experience with an OOP language, or API-based services (REST-based)
• Front end development experience using React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
• Experience/Knowledge with Azure Kubernetes
• Intermediate level experience developing REST style services that deliver responses in both JSON and XML
• Experience building event driven systems using messaging platforms (Azure Service Bus preferred)
• Hands on experience with NoSQL and Relational databases, preferably MongoDB
• Familiarity with IntelliJ, Eclipse, Maven, BitBucket & GIT/GitHub
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools
• Must be self-motivated, proactive, creative, and efficient in identifying issues with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to details
• Strong problem solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, cross team environment
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills.
