About Hospital Hunter

Hospital Hunter is building the operating system for clinics and hospitals in India. One platform runs the front desk, the lab, the pharmacy, the ledger, and now full inpatient care.

What's already live or being built:

• OPD ERP: reception, OPD board, consultation, patient directory, owner ledger, expenses, GSTR
• Laboratory (LIS): collection, worklists, results, QC, analyzer integration through an on-site lab agent
• Pharmacy: POS and stock
• IPD: admissions and beds, wards and nursing, OT scheduling, emergency, radiology, insurance/TPA, infection tracking, patient satisfaction, and an executive dashboard
• Supply chain (SCM): purchasing and fulfilment between hospitals and suppliers
• Patient side: a public hospital directory and a patient wallet

It's a small team shipping real software that clinics use every day. We need an engineer who can own features end to end, from the database migration to the button a receptionist presses.

What you'll do

• Ship complete features across the stack: Postgres schema and migrations, FastAPI endpoints, role-based access, audit trails, and the React/Next.js screens on top.
• Build and extend the product on our existing ERP shell.
• Keep the UI calm and obvious.
• Design multi-tenant data safely: row-level security, a separate clinical database for inpatient data, and entitlements and packages per hospital.
• Integrate with the real world: WhatsApp Cloud API, lab analyzers (ASTM/HL7 through a desktop agent), GST-compliant billing and exports.
• Own reliability: GKE/Helm deployments, Cloud SQL, Postgres → BigQuery backups, health checks, and CI.
• Write tests as part of the feature (Vitest on the web side, pytest on the API side), and keep architecture docs current.
• Work directly with the founder on product decisions. You'll often take a feature from here's the clinic's problem to production.
• Software Maintenance.

• Data: PostgreSQL (Cloud SQL, RLS, multi-database), BigQuery
• Infra: Google Cloud, GKE, Helm, Docker, GitLab CI
• Integrations: WhatsApp Cloud API, Gemini / Vertex AI, ASTM/HL7 lab devices, PyInstaller desktop agent
• Testing: Vitest, pytest

What we're looking for

Must have:

• 4+ years building and shipping production web applications
• Strong TypeScript and Must have:React, with real Next.js experience
• Strong Python backend experience (FastAPI or similar), with clean API design and validation
• Solid PostgreSQL skills: schema design, migrations, indexing, transactions (RLS is a plus)
• Comfort owning a feature end to end, including deploying it and fixing it when it breaks
• Good product sense and care for UX. You notice when a flow makes the user think too hard.
• Clear written communication; you document what you build

Nice to have:

• Healthcare, HIS/EMR/LIS, or pharmacy software experience (HL7, FHIR, ABDM, ASTM)
• Indian billing and compliance (GST, GSTR exports, TPA/insurance workflows)
• Kubernetes/GKE, Helm, and Google Cloud
• Multi-tenant SaaS, entitlements, and role-based access design
• Experience with AI coding tools (e.g. Cursor) in a disciplined, test-backed workflow
