About Ekko

Ekko is an AI-powered healthcare product that turns clinical conversations into structured

documentation. Our pipeline transcribes audio, generates clinical notes, and extracts structured data using LLMs. We ship a web app and a backend service used by clinicians who depend on getting it right.

We're a small, early-stage team that cares a lot about craft, moves fast, and keeps the chai flowing. The person in this role won't just close tickets. You'll shape how we build the front-end.

The Role

We're hiring a Senior Front-end / Full-Stack Engineer to own the experience clinicians actually touch. You'll lead front-end development on our React/TypeScript web app, build the real-time interfaces that surface live transcription and AI-generated notes, and make a genuinely complex clinical workflow feel simple and fast. This is a senior, hands-on role. You'll write production code from week one, set the front-end standards, and partner closely with backend, AI, and product. Full-stack here means you're happy to dive into our Node/NestJS services when a feature needs it, even if your heart lives in the front-end.

Your users are busy, a little skeptical of new tech, and have zero patience for a clunky interface during a patient visit. The bar is high, and the work is genuinely interesting.

What You'll Do

Build and own the front-end

·      Develop features across our React + TypeScript web app

·      Build real-time UI for live transcription and note generation using WebSockets (socket.io)

·      Own state with Redux Toolkit, forms with React Hook Form and Zod, and UI built on Radix and Tailwind

·      Integrate Auth0 and secure, role-based clinical workflows

Raise the bar

·      Set standards for component architecture, accessibility, and performance

·      Establish and grow front-end test coverage (we use Vitest)

·      Own build and bundle quality across our Vite apps

Go full-stack when it counts

·      Drop into our NestJS / TypeScript backend to ship features end to end

·      Design and consume REST and WebSocket APIs cleanly

·      Debug across the whole stack, from the browser to the service layer

Partner on product and AI

·      Turn fuzzy product ideas into shippable, well-scoped UI

·      Design review-and-edit flows that keep clinicians in control of AI output

·      Be a strong voice on UX, especially in the high-stakes clinical moments

What You Bring

·      5+ years building production front-ends, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity

·      Deep expertise in React and TypeScript, plus modern tooling (Vite, or similar)

·      Strong with state management (Redux Toolkit or equivalent), forms, and component systems(Radix, Tailwind, or similar)

·      Experience building real-time interfaces (WebSockets, streaming data, live updates)

·      Comfort working full-stack in a Node/TypeScript backend (NestJS, Express, or similar)

·      A track record of owning UX quality, not just implementing handed-over designs

·      Comfort with startup life: ambiguity, ownership, and shipping over perfection

Nice to Have

·      Healthcare or other high-trust, accuracy-critical software experience

·      Experience integrating LLM or AI outputs into user-facing flows

·      Familiarity with Auth0 or similar identity providers

·      CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions)

·      Serious foodies especially welcome; we take team lunch a little too seriously

·      Bonus points if you can quote more Rajinikanth punchlines than npm dependencies
