JOB DESCRIPTION – ACCOUNTS & FINANCE MANAGER
Position: Finance Manager
Location: Pune
Reporting To: Founder / CEO
Role Overview
The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the overall finance and accounts function of the Company, including accounting, taxation, statutory compliance, MIS reporting, contract review, fundraising compliances, payroll coordination, and selected HR and administrative activities.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
- Manage end-to-end accounting operations of the Company.
- Oversee bookkeeping, journal entries, ledger scrutiny, and account reconciliations.
- Ensure timely closure of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Coordinate with auditors for statutory audit, internal audit, and due diligence processes.
Statutory & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable financial and corporate laws and regulations.
- Handle GST, TDS, income tax, ROC, PF, ESIC, professional tax, and other statutory compliances.
- Ensure timely filing of returns, challans, and statutory reports.
- Coordinate with external consultants, auditors, and legal advisors for compliance matters.
MIS Reporting & Financial Analysis
- Prepare monthly MIS reports, management reports, and financial dashboards.
- Track budgets, expenses, profitability, and financial performance metrics.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations to management.
- Support management in financial planning and business decision-making.
Taxation
- Oversee direct and indirect taxation matters of the Company.
- Ensure accurate computation and timely payment of taxes.
- Coordinate tax assessments, notices, and departmental queries.
Contract Review & Commercial Support
- Review commercial contracts, vendor agreements, NDAs,MSA
- Coordinate with legal and business teams for contract finalization.
Fundraising & Investor Compliance
- Support fundraising activities, investor reporting, and financial due diligence.
- Prepare financial data rooms, projections, and supporting documents for investors.
- Ensure compliance related to investment transactions, ESOPs, and shareholder documentation.
Payroll & HR Support
- Coordinate payroll processing and employee reimbursements.
- Coordinate onboarding and exit formalities from a finance/compliance perspective.
Process Improvement & Internal Controls
- Develop and strengthen internal financial controls and processes.
- Improve financial systems, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
- Chartered Accountant (CA)with 2-4 years experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and statutory compliance.
- Experience in startup finance, fundraising, and investor reporting preferred.
- Proficiency in Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Excel, and MIS reporting tools.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
